Thi sis a human throat/voice simulator. The machine tries to emulate the movement of the lips in order to get the right sound.

As far as I know, they try to build a machine that acts like the complete human lungs - voice chords - lips, so scientists can learn more about how some sounds are formed by the human.
yeah, we figured that out here at tracebook, but we all kept thinking that that robot was going to perform fellatio on the mic... i know we have a sick mind here
